Honeybell Stars

Making this pattern is “Anything But Boring” as there are only a few blocks alike! This smaller version (cover) can be made in a day and the larger two in a weekend! The pieced star blocks are made over sized so there are not star points to cut off. The 4 patches are uneven so there are no seams to match. You will love the medallion result!

Perennial Plumes

Perennial Plumes
Perennial Plumes was designed by Mary M. Corcoran who was inspired by a quilt in the collection of the North Carolina Museum of History. The original red and green quilt, called Tulip and Plume, was made by Julia A. Pearce between 1880 and 1900. Staying true to the large four-block format, this 82″ X 82″ adaptation was created in Island Batik fabric and introduced a new setting. The color palette was designed to highlight the change of seasons, which was reinforced by placing the phases of the moon in the border corners. The quilt would also be lovely highlighting the many shades of autumn leaves.

Pie and Ice Cream

Pie and Ice Cream
This paper foundation pattern includes all the copies necessary to make one table runner!

This pattern had an interesting history: In 1871, Elizabeth Mathews Baxter created a beautiful and original wedding quilt for her son and his wife. Mary Ann Keathley was entranced by a photograph of this antique quilt and in 1989 created “Hidden Circles” based on that original quilt. Mary’s quilt can be found in the Leisure Arts book, Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns, published by Oxmoor House. The pattern author adapted the template pieces to foundation paper piecing and this pattern was created.
